Xbox360 had a year head start which enabled them to secure the leadership position without competition,
also they were able to have games that never came out for the Xbox console such as Smackdown etc…

Factor 2.
Price - Xbox360 has always been $299 at the cheapest exactly like PS2 when it first came out and till this day
Xbox still has the price advantage over PS3 and possibly always will.

Factor 3.
Online - Xbox360 was very smart with implementing a headset with every xbox360 so every one that goes online
can chat with one another assuring that you can have a great online experience along with a great feature set
for online connectivity
